the scientific and traditional nature of Greek martial art, or rather Pankration, as
maintained by its practitioners. Training is essentially broken into 2 phases where the student learns all aspects of being an unarmed combatant and "oplomahia" where they specifically train with a "mahairi" (Gr. knife)," ropolo" (Gr. club) or "kopis" (Gr. sword). The traditional component of Hellenic Pankration is emphasized in the form of terminology, mythology, history, and philosophy( including the "hairetismos" as well as the "Code of Areti"). |
